Your Child's Performance

You child doesn't have to be on a stage to be thinking about their performance in life. Actually when on a stage it is just acting. It is the real world performances in life that matter. Childhood is all about growth and development. We are all familiar with growth charts letting us know if a child is performing within typical standards for our physical size. There are other performance standards, some physical and some non-physical which should also be considered.

Body Coordination

Every parent is excited to see their child take his or her first step. It is significant sign of a child's journey towards an independent life. The ability to walk is an enourmous neurological task. It requires both sides of the brain to work together, all the muscles and joints need to be monitored continuously to make sure the correct muscles are being contracted and relaxed at the precise time. The balance centre in the middle ear are constantly sending information to the brain so the body can defy gravity and keep itself upright

During the first five years of life 90% of your child's nervous system is being built. This certainly makes it the most important neurological development time of life. Making sure that all these channels are staying clear of interference is essential if all of this growth and development are going to come together as smoothly as possible. This does not just affect the immediate needs of the child but rather all future needs. This is the foundation of development that will support your child throughout their adult years. Best to get it right the first time because we only get one first time.

Laughing Child

The manner in which we engage the world emotionally is hugely affected during the developmental years of childhood. All parents want their children to be happy and joyful. We know that life presents challenges that don't allow us to be happy all the time but if we are emotionally strong we will not be kept from our happy state for long. The nervous system has been shown to play a key role in affecting our mood directly. Indirectly if we have a dysfunction in any body system, like a sore tummy, then our emotional system is engaged. Keeping a clear nervous system allows us to process life most accurately and most quickly so we can return to our natural happy state in the shortest time possible.

Young Student

Every parent wants their child to get good grades in school and just learn about the world as best he or she can. When a child has to deal with health problems, especially chronic health problems that don't go away, it definitely decreases your child's ability to learn. Quite often when a child missing a lot of school due to health issues they are never able to catch-up.

Being able to do well in school has a large trickle effect later in life. The career path they end up on, the ability to follow their passion, or just their ability to make the best decisions for his or her self as they go through life. Keeping the nervous system clear can help all of this to perform at its best.

Children with Friends

The social aspect of life becomes more and more important to a child as they develop. Initially it is about bonding with Mom and family. Then it becomes extended family and friends. By the time a child reaches teenage life they are looking to their peers more than anywhere to see where they fit in socially.

How a child's social health develops is affected by many things. The nervous system certainly plays a role. It is through our nervous system that we are able to interact with others at all. Sight, hearing, taste, speech, touch, and smell are all specialized nerves that convert the world around us into signals our brain interprets. If we are going to understand the world in the best way possible we need to be getting clear signals.

There is also the simple relationship that we are not very good at being social if we don't stay healthy. When you are sick you don't like to be around others and they don't like to be around you. Keeping the nevous system healthy is essential for keeping all other systems healthy.
